Master of Social Work (Graduate Entry)


Course Details

This degree aims to provide students with the knowledge and skills to practice responsibly and reflectively as a professional social worker, in keeping with the standards set by the Australian Association of Social Workers.

Qualification: Master Degree (By Coursework)

Course structure: Students complete fourteen core (compulsory) topics including professional experience placement topics, and one option topic chosen from a range of option topics available. These topics aim to provide students with skills in areas of policy, research, clinical and community based practice. Australian Social Work Education and Accreditation Standards (2012) require that students undertake a minimum of twenty (20) days of face-to-face study on-campus. Normally students are expected to include some face-to-face study in all four semesters of full-time equivalent study. To meet these requirements, students can choose from various topics offered as on-campus intensives. This degree requires completion of two (2) field placements of 500 hours each.
