The mass adoption of social media, the accumulation of large amounts of data and the advances in new technologies such as business analytics and artificial intelligence have made information central to most aspects of work and life. Created in response to the rapid growth in the use of information systems and eBusiness applications by businesses and governments internationally, Deakins Master of Information Systems enables you to develop specialist skills in digital transformation, eBusiness and business-oriented principles and practices of information systems. Youll explore the strategic use of information in a business and policy context, while gaining a sound technical understanding in specific areas of information systems, particularly information security, supply chain management, and project management. Learn about the principles and practices of stakeholder analysis, identification of business needs, problems and opportunities, analysis, negotiation and specification of requirements for any solution that may involve technology-inspired change. Youll also have the option to complement your primary studies in information systems with a specialisation in a wide range of business-related fields (e.g. AI strategy and management or business analytics). Course structure: 16 credit points total which include; 12 credit points of core units; 4 credit points of elective units; Students also complete one zero credit point academic integrity module.
