Course Details

Master Degrees (Coursework) prepare students to apply advanced knowledge for professional practice, scholarship and further learning corresponding to AQF level 9 qualifications. The Master of Global Engagement (Advanced) is a 24-month unique interdisciplinary PG coursework degree that combines units in Global Engagement, International Relations and National Security, and Human Rights. It teaches students how to critically analyse global challenges facing cultures and communities and apply practical, ethical and sustainable solutions to real world problems as they play out in regional and local contexts - including climate change; peace and conflict; income and wealth inequality; crime and justice. The course delivers content knowledge and fosters skills in global literacy and engagement, emphasising multiple ways of understanding the world and its diverse inhabitants through reflexivity, the collaborative production of knowledge, and complex webs of interconnection. Graduates from the Master of Global Engagement (Advanced) will emerge with advanced knowledge and skills to lead teams and communities and inform strategic decision-making across a diverse range of contexts and work domains. The degree prepares students for employment opportunities in all levels of national and global governance, development and diplomacy, global politics and business
