Course Details

As the campaign towards the superior integration of design, construction and project management approaches in built environment and productivity improvement of construction industry, Master of Building & Construction Information Management (M-BCIM) aims to develop the extensive body of knowledge and professional practice in modelling, exchanging, maintaining, implementing and managing building and construction information. The course is designed to assist architects, building practitioners, construction engineers, project managers and built environment researchers with consolidating the fundamental theories of BIM, technology-oriented BIM training, strengthening the modelling, management, simulation and analysis skills and enhancing the critical thinking and future competencies required for digital built environment. It will build on the existing knowledge and skills to deliver a comprehensive, flexible, robust and research-led advanced BIM pedagogy. M-BCIM will benefit from an inclusive approach in developing educational materials and authentic assessment procedures adopted with practice-oriented learning, situating in a global workplace through the international mobility and research-inspired and integrated with cutting edge technologies. The course is structured to include face-to-face and distant-assisted lectures, tutorials, digital studios and workshops and industry-focused practices complimented with research development skills as to the master dissertation. It is intended to take an effective lead from the adaptive to the progressive learning in order to acquire the collaborative design, problem solving and integrated BIM functionality in the built environment context.
