Course Details

Place yourself at the forefront of innovation, engineering organisms to address issues of food security, disease and climate change with the ANU Master of Biotechnology. Study alongside our leading researchers who work on issues of global importance in areas of biochemistry and molecular biology in the biomedical, animal and plant sciences. You will also consider the social and ethical impacts of biotechnological research. Our Canberra location means you will learn about the work done by Australia's largest government employers in biotechnology. The Master of Biotechnology is a coursework program that provides a pathway for science graduates with background knowledge in biochemistry, molecular biology, and chemistry to acquire new knowledge or extend and update their theoretical and practical understanding of modern biotechnology. Throughout the program, students have many opportunities to interface with scientists who are advancing research in areas of biochemistry and molecular biology in the biomedical, animal and plant sciences.

Qualification: Master Degree (By Coursework)

Course structure: 96 units which must consist of 30 units from compulsory courses and a maximum of 66 units from the other listed electives.
