Course Details

The Master of Arts (Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking) provides high-level analysis of the concepts of modern slavery and human trafficking and contextualises these issues in an international, national and local context. It enhances awareness and develops structures for ethical decision-making. It provides dynamic opportunities for engagement with organisations and individuals who work to combat modern slavery and human trafficking. Students may complete elective courses that focus on their particular areas of interest. This program provides both research and practitioner-focused study modes. The research mode provides students with the research design and methodology they need to undertake high level research culminating in a substantial research project, focusing on end-user research. The practitioner-focused mode aims to provide graduates with specialist insights and expertise, designed to ensure ethical decision-making and the development of future industry leaders. Students complete an applied professional project, co-designed with partner organisations, and focused on applying professional skills to specific workplaces and anti-slavery/trafficking groups.

Qualification: Master Degree (By Coursework)

Course structure: 6 compulsory courses; 6 elective courses. Courses will vary depending on the select mode: Applied Research or Professional Practice.
