Course Details
This degree is designed to meet the research and professional needs of applicants with an interest in Australian archaeology, archaeological field practice and cultural heritage consultancy. It aims to increase the theoretical knowledge and applied skills required to develop appropriate depth of understanding of issues in a number of related specialisations in archaeology and/or cultural heritage management. It offers a shorter program of study for applicants who hold university qualifications in a closely related area.
Qualification: Master Degree (By Coursework)
Course structure: Students complete five core (compulsory) topics including research project topics, and five option topics chosen from an extensive range of option topics available. These topics aim to provide students with the opportunity to apply both the principles and the practical skills developed during their study such as undertake large-scale archaeological or heritage management research or consultancy projects as well as provide students the opportunity to further their knowledge in interest areas such as tourism, environmental studies and Geographical Information Systems (GIS).
