Course Details

The Master of Applied Linguistics at UNSW is a professionally relevant masters degree for students intrigued by the complex relationship between structural and functional elements of language and its social, cognitive and cultural manifestations. The postgraduate linguistics courses also provide a base for a variety of practical applications including the teaching and learning of foreign languages, interpreting and translation, and providing linguistic support for professions such as law and medicine.

Qualification: Master Degree (By Coursework)

Course structure: 8 courses (4 Advanced Disciplinary courses and 4 Prescribed electives) totalling 48 units of credit (UOC) OR 12 courses (4 Cognate courses, 4 Advanced Disciplinary courses and 4 Prescribed electives) totalling 72 units of credit (UOC).
