Course Details
The UNSW Juris Doctor (JD) is the professional law degree for graduates of disciplines other than law, or with a law degree from an overseas institution. It provides the basis for admission to legal practice, as well as a wide range of careers in government, business, legal and social policy, or international relations.
Qualification: Master Degree (Extended)
Course structure: 144 units of credit comprised of 16 compulsory core law courses (96 UOC), 7 elective law courses (42 UOC), 1 prescribed elective law course (6 UOC). This is a 3 year degree when studied full-time, but can be completed over a maximum of 8 years.

JD students will develop their legal knowledge in a challenging and dynamic learning environment, under the guidance of a world-class faculty. UNSW also offer Australia's leading and largest range of experiential learning opportunities, all of which are credited towards the degree. Classes can be undertaken at both the UNSW Kensington Campus and the UNSW CBD Campus.
