Graduate Diploma in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL)

Course Details

This course is designed to facilitate the development of disciplinary knowledge in the area of language acquisition, as well as the area of teaching English to speakers of other languages. Students will investigate classroom issues related to TESOL and critique language teaching methodologies. Students also identify research trends in the field of teaching English to speakers of other languages.

Qualification: Graduate Diploma

Course structure: Students complete three core (compulsory) topics aimed at providing students with the necessary understanding second language learning and teaching, and curriculum development, and research. Students must also complete five option topics chosen from a range of option topics available including language assessment, linguistics, language pedagogy, and new technologies in foreign language education.
