Course Details

The graduate certificate of Engaging the Pacific offers students an opportunity to explore the island regions' diverse histories, cultures, arts, languages, politics, migration and environmental issues. The program utilises critical approaches from interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary perspectives that are inclusive and supportive of indigenous Pacific voices, knowledges and methods. Students hoping to work in the region, or in a wide variety of agencies and organisations engaged with Pacific policy, teaching, collections and communities in the islands and diaspora, will receive a strong grounding in thinking with and for Oceania.
