Course Details

The School of Cybernetics PhD program continues the innovation of the ANU Master of Applied Cybernetics in pioneering a new approach to engineering and technology design, development, adoption and regulation that combines technological, human and ecological systems for a better world, as well as being a standard-bearer for equity and inclusion. The program is cohort-based, and team taught and supported. A PhD in the School of Cybernetics provides an opportunity for students to develop cybernetic research and practice through an engaged and innovative approach.

Qualification: Doctor Degree (By Research)

Course structure: The Doctor of Philosophy requires the submission and successful examination of a thesis of up to 100,000 words on an approved topic. If approved the thesis may take an alternative form, such as a performance, experimental prototype and/or corpus of creative work.; Completion of a standard program for a Doctor of Philosophy requires a minimum of 96 units and a maximum of 192 units of enrolment in the research component
