Doctor of Philosophy (Public Health and Health Services)


Course Details

Make a significant contribution to health promotion, public health, and health services by undertaking PhD research. There are opportunities to commence PhD research in areas such as health promotion; health economics and program evaluation, health impact assessment; public health policy; rural health; health and the environment; social determinants of health; disability; social work; occupational therapy and community health. You can also commence research in: health promotion; health education and advancement; public health policy; household ecology encompassing sustainability, decision making and community involvement; and social determinants of health with a focus on gender, ethnicity and inequality. Deakin currently has around 1600 higher degree by research candidates intelligent people making the most of our excellent facilities, partnerships, strategic research centres and excellent reputation.

Qualification: Doctor Degree (By Coursework)

Course structure: A Doctor of Philosophy is awarded for a substantial, original contribution to knowledge achieved in three years of full-time study (or six years of part-time study).
