Course Details

The Bachelor of Applied Science (Exercise and Sport Science) (Honours) program is a fourth year of study during which you will conduct a research project and write a thesis under the supervision of a senior academic, developing specialist knowledge and invaluable research skills. As an Honours student, you will study alongside leading researchers in the discipline of exercise and sport science as you develop the expertise and practical skills needed to utilise and produce high quality research. Entry to the Honours program will commence in year four and is available to meritorious students currently enrolled in the Bachelor of Applied Science (Exercise and Sports Science) (Pass) degree. You will complete two units of study throughout your Honours year. In semester 1, you will commence Honours A: Research Design, which covers quantitative and qualitative research methods and will enable you to develop your research proposal. You will then undertake Honours B: Applied Research Skills in semester 2. In this unit you will cultivate skills in data analysis and the interpretation of results. You will also learn how to write up and present your research findings. The Honours program culminates in a presentation and the submission of a scholarly thesis for examination, in the form of a journal manuscript.
