Bachelor of Social Science (Honours) in Social Work


Course Details

This 3-year part-time conversion programme aims to provide further studies for sub-degree holders in social work. It equips students with broad knowledge of social work practice and advanced skills, and imbues them with a set of professional values and attitudes. In addition, the programme focuses on welfare policy and service evaluation, aiming to strengthen students' knowledge in these two areas, and thereby their abilities in administration and management in human services. Graduates will be recongnised as Registered Social Workers (RSW) under the Social Workers Registration Ordinance. They are eligible to apply for positions such as Assistant Social Work Officers (or equivalent ranks) in the Social Welfare Department of the HKSAR Government and social service agencies. For further studies, graduates can pursue a postgraduate degree in social work or other branches of social sciences, such as sociology and public policy.
