Flinders University
Course Details
The Bachelor of Science degree provides an extensive range of options for students who want to discover where science can take them - and where they can take science. There is great flexibility in the program, allowing students to follow their interests without being confined by traditional discipline boundaries. The degree is designed to provide the strongest possible foundation for a science-based career. Graduates are equipped not just to find their first job in their chosen field, but to explore new options in later years as science - and their own interests - change and develop. Students do not need a science background to enrol in this degree. There are no prerequisites and introductory studies are offered where necessary.
Qualification: Bachelor Degree (Pass)
Course structure: In first year students study a range of general and introductory topics to gain an important grounding in science. If students know what major they wish to pursue, they can select the relevant first year topics that will lead to this area.; however, if they have not yet decided they can select from a range of topics that will allow them to sample a number of science areas and select a major later. In second and third years, students are able to focus in one area of science, and can choose traditional disciplines and new areas of science. Students choose to complete a major sequence and science electives as well as being able to undertake non science elective topics.
