Course Details

The Bachelor of Science (Environmental Science) requires 3 years of full-time study (or the equivalent part-time). The course specialisation is offered by the College of Science and Engineering. The course specialisation is also available as an exit award from the Bachelor of Science (Honours) (Environmental Science) - 4 years, subject to meeting the requirements in the Program of Study below.

Qualification: Bachelor Degree (Pass)

Course structure: This course is built around knowledge of the core sciences with elective topics to meet the specific interests of students. First year comprises topics in areas such as Earth Sciences, Geographical Information Systems (GIS) and Marine Sciences. Students also have the opportunity to choose elective topics in areas of interest both within mathematics and other areas of study. In the second year, students delve deeper into specific environmental subject matter which comprises topics in areas such as global climate change, hydrology and also how the environment impacts human health. Second and third year also gives students the ability to investigate aspects of Australian environment and has core practical topics that enable students to gain skills both in the field and in the laboratory.
