Course Details

QUT offers one of the few specialised property courses in Australia. Property economics at QUT is concerned with all aspects of property: investment, asset management, development, valuation and research, with a focus on finance and the commercial property market sector. You will gain hands-on, practical experience to supplement your theoretical knowledge. In line with faculty priorities, this course has a focus on sustainable development and environmental and energy efficiency in all forms of property. The flexible structure of the course enables you to choose a second specialisation or groups of minor units to match your career aspirations and personal goals. This maximises your employment opportunities, offering breadth of knowledge and a real focus based on your unique study plan.

Qualification: Bachelor Degree (Pass)

Course structure: The degree requires completion of 288 credit points consisting of core units, property economics discipline units and complementary studies, and is normally completed in 3 years of full-time study or the equivalent part-time study. There is opportunity to undertake complementary studies (second major or minors) in: related disciplines - Urban and Regional Planning and Construction Management; extended minor studies to meet the educational requirements for professional accreditation from industry bodies; or to select from other disciplines. All students must undertake 30 days of approved professional work placement as part of the Faculty's Work Integrated Learning core unit.

QUT offers a range of scholarships that provide real support for students. Our offer guarantee can give you peace of mind about your study choices. If you receive an ATAR or selection rank equal to or higher than the offer guarantee, you are guaranteed a place in the course regardless of the threshold. This means that when you know your ATAR or selection rank you can check your eligibility for a QUT course before receiving an offer. You still need to lodge a QTAC application by the closing date. A small number of courses do not participate in the offer guarantee scheme.
