Course Details
The Bachelor of Engineering (Robotics) (Honours), Master of Engineering (Electrical and Electronic) requires 5 years of full-time study (or the equivalent part-time). The double degree course is offered by the College of Science and Engineering.
Qualification: Bachelor Degree (Honours)
Course structure: The first year comprises study in fundamental science and engineering topics including electronics, engineering programming, professional skills, physics and materials and mathematics. The second year then builds on this base with topics in programming, electrical circuits and machines, microprocessors and sensors and actuators. Students also begin to choose topics in either a mechatronics or intelligent robotics focus. The third year builds on this with further topics in robotics and computing and there is also room for elective topics. The fourth year then provides further robotics material, such as autonomous systems and communication systems and incorporates our nationally recognised industry placement program. Students gain specialist knowledge in key areas, graduating with a proven on-the-job performance. The final year provides further robotics material and scope to take electives in computer science and engineering. It also includes a major robotics Masters thesis.
