Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) (Material Science)/Commerce


Course Details

This dual degree program is for potential engineers in the fields of physical metallurgy, functional materials, materials engineering, ceramic engineering or process metallurgy who want to become skilled in technical management and more aware of economic and social aspects of the engineering profession. A diverse range of career options is available to those who successfully complete this dual degree. Many engineers often progress to technical management roles. With this degree students are ahead of the rest with not only the engineering skills, but also business acumen. This is a five and a half year program. The Bachelor of Engineering components include lectures, practical hands-on laboratory work, research and design projects and industrial training. Commerce courses are introduced in second year.

Qualification: Bachelor Degree (Honours)

Course structure: Each student may specialise in a particular field of Materials Science and Engineering by taking a range of appropriate electives in the final stages of the program. There are five study plans: BE in Physical Metallurgy, BE in Process Metallurgy, BE in Functional Materials, BE in Materials Engineering, BE in Ceramic Engineering.

The UNSW HSC Plus program includes the Bachelor of Materials Science and Engineering/Bachelor of Commerce.
