Course Details

The Bachelor of Engineering (Biomedical) (Honours) - 4 years requires 4 years of full-time study (or the equivalent part-time). The course specialisation is offered by the College of Science and Engineering.

Qualification: Bachelor Degree (Honours)

Course structure: First year contains study in Electronics, Professional Skills, Engineering Programming, Engineering Physics and Materials 1, Engineering Mechanics, Mathematics 1A, Mathematics 1B and How Your Body Works: Human Physiology and Structure Second year builds on core topics dealing with a variety of areas includingEngineering Design, Engineering Mathematics, Analysis of Engineering Systems, Biomechanics, Biomedical Instrumentation, Sensors and Actuators and Human Physiology. The third year provides further core study within Computer Programming 2, Project Management for Engineering and Science, Physiological Measurement and Workplace Preparation. This year also has offers study in either electronics or mechanics option topics. The final year/honours year provides further study in Standards, Ethics &Compliance and Innovation in Medical Devices with a range of Thesis related topics.
