Economics is the science of decision-making and the key to unlocking how the world works

Qualification: Bachelor Degree (Pass)

Course structure: Students must complete 144 points, of which 96 points must be focussed on commerce study and 48 points are used to provide additional depth or breadth. Three themes: Part A - 4 Foundation commerce knowledge units (24 points), Part B - Specialist discipline knowledge (in either Economics and Economics Policy or Mathematical Economics and Econometrics) and Part C - Capstone experience (72 points), Part D - Elective study (48 points).

The Bachelor of Economics is available as a double degree with a Bachelor of Commerce. Economics graduates are sought after across many industries, including the environment and sustainability fields, finance, transport and aviation, health and throughout the private sector. Economists also find employment opportunities in government departments and agencies, including the Reserve Bank of Australia, the Australian Bureau of Statistics, the Australian Treasury, the Productivity Commission and the Australian National Audit Office.
