Course Details

Criminology is a rich, interdisciplinary field that weaves together specialties across the social sciences, law, politics and psychology. Its an exciting and dynamic profession thats ever-changing due to the way modern societies - and the criminals within - constantly evolve. The Bachelor of Criminology cultivates a critical comprehension of crime and injustice. Youll learn about key institutions of criminal justice, including the police, courts and prisons. Youll build your knowledge around historical understandings of crime the enduring relationship between inequality and crime and how crime intersects with topics such as race, gender, Indigeneity, age and sexuality. Youll also examine criminological responses to contemporary challenges, including environmental crime, transnational crime, terrorism, cybercrime and security. The degree will empower you to think innovatively and ethically when addressing the persistent challenges of crime, whether you choose to pursue further education, engage in research or enter the workforce.
