Course Details
The Bachelor of Creative Arts (Fashion) can be taken as a dual award with the Diploma of Applied Fashion Design and Technology (LMT50307) (prior to 2017), Diploma of Applied Fashion Design and Merchandising (MST50116) (from 2017) offered by TAFE SA. The dual award requires three years of full-time study to complete both qualifications. Students are required to enrol concurrently at both the University and TAFE SA to complete the dual award. The Bachelor of Creative Arts (Fashion) can also be taken as a VET Entry course specialisation. Students undertaking the VET Entry course specialisation will receive 54 units of block credit on the basis of having completed an Advanced Diploma.

Course structure: In first year, students learn the basics of garment design and construction through areas of colour theory, patterns, and familiarity with the fashion workshops and their equipment. In the second year, students develop their garment design and construction skills through workshop and retail projects. In the third year, students learn about entrepreneurship, events, and the social impacts of fashion. They also have the opportunity to be involved in the annual graduate fashion parade.
