Course Details

This course is one of the most popular double degrees because of the variety of options it offers to graduates. A business and law double degree offers a powerful combination of business and law skills that provides a broad base of commercial knowledge and will enhance your career in the law or business environments. Your business knowledge and skills will provide a valuable commercial perspective ideal for specialist areas such as corporate law, company takeovers, corporate governance, taxation law and intellectual property law. Business majors include accounting, advertising, economics, finance, financial planning, management, marketing, human resource management, international business and public relations, giving a broad range of specialty areas to focus your career on. Accounting is a popular complementary choice of major for business/law students, providing you with formal recognition from peak bodies in both professions. QUT’s contemporary law degree prepares you to think ahead and allows you to take advantage of employment opportunities in growth areas or newly emerging sectors, such as intellectual property and technology.

Qualification: Bachelor Degree (Honours)

Course structure: Students are required to complete 528 credit points, comprised of 192 credit points for the Bachelor of Business program and 336 credit points for the Bachelor of Laws program. You will study business and law units in your first four years and for the remainder of this course you will concentrate on law studies.

This means that when you know your ATAR or selection rank you can check your eligibility for a QUT course before receiving an offer. You still need to lodge a QTAC application by the closing date.
