Bachelor of Actuarial Studies/Science (Advanced Mathematics)(Honours)


Course Details

This challenging and highly rewarding 5 years (full-time) degree is suitable for those with a strong mathematical background wanting to combine actuarial studies with a substantial amount of study in mathematics or statistics. It provides the necessary skills needed to enter the actuarial profession, while developing advanced knowledge in mathematics. The dual degree includes an Honours Year to further develop analytical and research skills, adding extra value to undergraduate studies.

Qualification: Bachelor Degree (Honours)

Course structure: 40 courses (240 UOC): Actuarial Studies core courses; 3 Level 3 Actuarial Studies electives; Business School elective; One science (advanced mathematics) major; Science electives; Honours year in sciences (advanced mathematics). NOTE: Students must complete at least 16 courses (96 UOC) for actuarial studies and 24 courses (144 UOC) for science (advanced mathematics).

The specialisation in quantitative risk will require approval. The UNSW HSC Plus does not apply to the Bachelor of Actuarial Studies and its dual degrees.
